This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Success Center Supervisor - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who oversees the daily operations, staff, and academic support services of the Moore County Campus (MCC) Success Center. This role supports student success by coordinating tutoring services, supervising staff and tutors, collaborating with faculty, and implementing strategies that promote academic achievement, retention, and completion.

The Supervisor ensures services are student-centered, data-informed, and aligned with Amarillo College’s mission while maintaining tutoring standards consistent with College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) best practices. Additionally, this position supports assessment, continuous improvement initiatives, and campus outreach efforts that advance student success and academic excellence.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education, Student Services, Curriculum & Instruction, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.

Experience

Required: Three (3) or more years of experience in teaching, tutoring, academic support services, or a related instructional environment.

Preferred: Two (2) or more years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a higher education or student support services setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for the Success Center at the Moore County Campus, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tutoring and academic support services in a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff and tutors in accordance with college policies and CRLA standards.
  • Coordinate tutoring services and collaborate with faculty in disciplines such as Biology, English, and Math to support embedded tutoring initiatives and faculty partnerships.
  • Provide direct academic support and tutoring assistance to students when needed, particularly in high-demand subject areas.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate tutor training programs (both in-person and virtual), ensuring tutors progress through CRLA certification levels and meet required professional standards.
  • Promote the Success Center and its services across the Amarillo College community through outreach efforts, classroom visits, presentations, and digital communication platforms including website updates and social media.
  • Coordinate student engagement initiatives and outreach efforts related to Amarillo College’s Tutoring for Success Policy to increase student awareness and participation in tutoring services.
  • Participate in campus-wide recruitment, orientation, and student engagement events such as Badger Beginnings, High School Senior Day, and other institutional initiatives designed to support student retention and success.
  • Collect, track, and analyze student learning outcomes, usage metrics, and assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness of tutoring services and identify opportunities for program improvement.
  • Prepare reports and provide data analysis to supervisors and institutional stakeholders to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage the Success Center budget, including forecasting needs, monitoring expenditures, and coordinating the procurement of supplies and resources.
  • Review operational procedures regularly and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service quality based on assessment findings and supervisory feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Student Learning Support and the Assistant Director of Academic Services for the Moore County Campus on strategic planning initiatives, student success strategies, and program development.
  • Foster a culture of care, respect, and support for students while modeling the mission and values of Amarillo College in all interactions.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.
