Maintenance Preventative Technician
Preventative Technicians are responsible for assisting in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of products throughout the complete production cycle. Completes PM work orders in adherence to plant KPI's. Plan and schedule manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
Essential Functions:
- Manages work through computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other work order system.
- Perform routine inspections of machinery to identify potential problems before they occur.
- Troubleshooting problems with machinery, equipment, or processes to identify the source of the issue.
- Inspecting equipment for signs of wear such as leaks or cracks in pipes or gauges that indicate a need for repair.
- Plans all works ensuring equipment availability and that work orders are accurately completed.
- Prioritizes work through a defined protocol of process criticality and equipment redundancy.
- Utilize CMMS system to auto-generate manufacturing work orders.
- Reviews work orders for accuracy and clarity.
- Tracks all work orders and keeps the requestor informed of progress.
- Serves as the point person in coordinating all work to be performed by the maintenance department by assignment of preventative work orders.
- Reviews, corrects, and confirms all preventative work orders in CMMS.
- Responsible for planning of maintenance work orders.
- Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities defined in company policies and procedures, applicable legislations, or the SQF code.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
- Effectively manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiency, and meet customer commitments.
- Communicate with internal customers, vendor service providers, peers, and management.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Punctual and regular attendance is required.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write, and speak.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activity to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
Physical effort is regularly required. May be trained and required to operate a forklift. Ascending or descending ramps, stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding. Frequently involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing. Frequently involves lifting in excess of 50 lbs.

Environmental Conditions:
Works in a food processing manufacturing facility with moderate noise. May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e., production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic). May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals. May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
May be exposed to ingredients that may cause allergic reactions and may be exposed to various allergen ingredients.
