Part Time Library Assistant- Nights & Weekends Circulation Dixon Homestead Library

The Dixon Homestead Library seeks to fill one part-time library assistant position. The successful applicant will have patience, people skills, and flexibility. BCCLS experience is a plus but not required.

• Patron assistance at the circulation desk (checkouts, fines, registration, renewals, request, etc.)
• Answers and directs telephone calls to appropriate staff members
• Light bending and lifting related to the handling of Library materials
• Simple catalog searches and material requests for patrons
• Communicates Library policies and procedures to patrons
• Special projects or duties, as assigned by supervisors

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• General Computer skills- MS Word, email, internet
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Residency in the state of New Jersey within 1 year of hire

• Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 4pm – 8pm
• Every other Saturday 10am – 2pm (except July & August)

The pay rate is negotiable with PTO beginning after a 6-month probationary period.
