- Test asphalt, soil, concrete, and aggregates to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Partner and coordinate daily/weekly scheduling with management.
- Clear understanding of material procedures and production.
- Basic computer skills with Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Partner with other members of staff reporting to the Quality Control Manager to ensure specifications are met, as well as daily production schedules/estimates.
- Knowledge and adherence to ethical behavior and safety standards as required by the company and OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to prepare and submit proper documentation to the appropriate Quality Control personnel and/or agency.
- Understand how to evaluate test results and address problems when they arise.
- Mathematical comprehension.
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co‑workers, customers, and the general public.
- Flexible with last‑minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out‑of‑town/county/state work may be required.
- Ability to work outside for long periods of time.
- Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
- Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
- Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Must pass drug test and criminal background check.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- WVDOH asphalt field certification preferred but not required (will train qualified applicants).
- Other state certifications as required.
