Locum Tenens General Surgeon Needed for Inpatient Call near Duncan, OK (j-227603) Are you a motivated and experienced General Surgeon seeking a locum tenens opportunity to provide exceptional emergency care in a dynamic hospital setting? We're seeking a qualified physician to join our team and ensure high-quality surgical intervention for general surgery emergencies during a short-term staffing need. What You'll Do:
Provide on-call coverage for a variety of general surgery emergencies presenting at our well-equipped hospital near Duncan, OK. Assess patients, diagnose injuries, and develop treatment plans for urgent surgical needs. Perform essential procedures to stop bleeding, clear obstructions, and stabilize patients in critical situations. Collaborate with emergency room physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.

Integrate seamlessly with the Epic electronic medical record system. Foster a positive and professional work environment. Benefits:

Qualifications:

Active medical license in the state of Oklahoma (OK only). Board-eligible or board-certified in General Surgery (fellowship not required). Current ACLS and BLS certifications. Minimum credentialing time possible (emergency availability). Strong clinical skills and a comprehensive knowledge base in General Surgery, with a focus on emergency procedures. Experience performing lifesaving interventions like bleeding control and obstruction removal is a plus. Ability to perform endoscopy procedures (GI) is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make critical decisions. Additional Information:

ASAP - Ongoing (assignment ends January 3, 2025) Coverage includes major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, etc.) with a call schedule only. (Specific call schedule details are being finalized). Temporary privileges may not be available for this role. While ATLS certification is not mandatory, ACLS certification may be required depending on the requested privileges. This role focuses solely on inpatient emergency surgical care.
