Pay

• Certified Substitute Teacher — $16.50 per hour
• If a Certified Substitute Teacher substitutes twenty consecutive days in the same assignment, pay increases to $24.75 per hour beginning with the twenty-first consecutive day in that assignment.
• Non-Certified Substitute Teacher — $12.50 per hour
• Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional Substitute — $12.00 per hour
• Clerical Substitute — $12.00 per hour

All substitutes must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines
• As a condition of employment, each prospective substitute must pass a National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC).

• To be considered a Certified Substitute Teacher, you must have a valid OKLAHOMA Teaching Certificate
