Engineering Technologist I​/II

Job Overview

Engineering Technologist I is the first level of the non‑Engineer degreed technical support role classification. The role applies technical expertise to solve simple problems and uses management skills to provide oversight of work in a specific area. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their field and work with a degree of independence under high direction and close supervision.

Engineering Technologist II is the second level. The role applies technical expertise to solve more complex problems and uses management skills to provide oversight and direction in a specific area with general supervision. Employees are expected to develop deeper technical skills and work with increasing independence.

• Either an Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or 2+ years equivalent industry experience without a degree.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio‑economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of basic principles of project management.

• 5‑15% travel.
