• Performs general, OBGYN, and vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Provides imaging assistance to the radiologist for interventional ultrasound procedures.
• Reviews inpatient requisitions and prioritizes patient list in order of severity of illness, special procedures, special requests, and equipment availability; revises patient schedule as new procedures are requested and circumstances change.
• Manages procurement, storage, and routing of supplies for room preparation.
• Ensures reusable instruments are delivered to the appropriate department for sterilization; ensures all instruments are decontaminated and stored using appropriate processes, solutions, supplies, and equipment; completes necessary procedures for sterilization per manufacturer instructions and hospital procedures; prepares and documents sterilization process charts, logs, and records per hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Reviews patient’s relevant prior imaging before exam.
• Interviews patient to acquire clinical history.
• Correlates physical findings with adjunct imaging modalities.
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Adapts assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.
• Uses assistive devices for lifting as required.
• Adheres to safety protocols at all times.
• Meets all required conditions of employment per DRH policy, including required vaccinations; performs respirator and fit testing for all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet-producing procedures, or caustic chemicals.
• Implements DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibits behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Communication skills: fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with email, related software, and EHR information tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to emergent or urgent situations.
• Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
• 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred.

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registration required; may obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• American Heart Association BLS required; may obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance required for any position requiring travel.
