Production Lead, Bindery

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Bindery Operator Lead
. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching employees working in the specific area of responsibility (whether it be bindery, fabricating, cutting, or kitting). The Production Lead trains new and existing employees on the most efficient and effective methods of machine set-up and process flow.

You will have the opportunity to learn new equipment, first, and as the subject matter expert, will then train and evaluate the work of the other team members. This position will not, however, have management responsibilities for the team members such as hiring, firing, or completing performance reviews. This role will, however, provide feedback to the manager as to how well the team members are learning the necessary skills required of the team roles.

This role is a working lead role, and as a result, it will be necessary for the lead to also complete the applicable work on the job ticket and follow and adhere to the specific job requirements. You are also responsible for the last quality check before shipment to TBG/Smart Press customers and is the key liaison with the CSR and managers to ensure the job is completed successfully within the customers’ parameters.

- Wednesay 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM OR Thursday - Saturday (36-hour work week
- Three 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule every 4 months. Overtime Eligible.)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 3-5 experience in the printing Industry as a Bindery Operator, Cutter, Folder or Booklet Maker
• OSHA 10 Hour Certification is a plus

• Work closely with manager, and other shift leadership in prioritizing and directing department work flow
• Support safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables & maintain high quality standards
• Ensure assembly integrity through continuous monitoring of departmental processes
• Maintain appropriate levels of supplies to meet production requirements
• Monitor issues and receipts for work orders
• Establish open lines of communication with the production floor
• Represent corporate policy and communicate to employees as required
• Ensure training and skills matrix are in compliance with training policy& work to further develop team’s skill
• Work toward continuous improvement by monitoring efficiency & productivity & implement improvements
• Drive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery Interact with other support departments as required driving out costs where possible
• Complete and quality check each job according to ticket specifications, producing quality work
• Learn existing equipment and train and learn on new equipment
• Troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
