The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing bookkeeping functions, maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting the accounting needs of a fast‑paced residential construction company. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, is highly proficient in Quick Books and Google Sheets, and is comfortable working with multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities- Perform daily bookkeeping and general accounting functions
- Maintain accurate financial records using Quick Books
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with the month‑end close
- Track job costs and assist with construction accounting
- Maintain vendor files, W‑9s, and subcontractor records
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
- Prepare spreadsheets and financial analyses using Google Sheets
- Work closely with management to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting
- Support year‑end tax preparation and coordinate with the company’s CPA
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (construction or home‑building experience preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Quick Books
- Advanced Google Sheets and spreadsheet skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Experience with residential construction or home‑building accounting
- Job costing experience
- Experience working with subcontractors and vendor payments
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (plus)
$45,000–$60,000 per year
