We are seeking an Environmental Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) Analyst to join our team in Duncan, SC. The EHS&S Analyst provides critical administrative, technical, data management, and compliance support for AFL's Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) programs. This role is responsible for maintaining key EHSS management systems, supporting regulatory compliance activities, administering training and contractor management programs, coordinating workers’ compensation and medical surveillance processes, and assisting environmental compliance initiatives.
The EHS&S Analyst plays an important role in AFL’s journey toward operational excellence, risk reduction, continuous improvement, and ISO 45001 certification by maintaining accurate records, supporting documented processes, enabling data-driven decision making, and helping drive consistency across EHSS programs. Through strong attention to detail, process discipline, and proactive support of site operations, the role helps advance AFL’s safety culture while reducing risk to employees, contractors, the environment, and the business.
Responsibilities
EHS Management Systems & Documentation
- Maintain EHSS management systems, records, forms, and databases in support of regulatory requirements and ISO 45001 management system objectives.
- Support document control activities, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
- Administer EHSS training programs through the Learning Management System.
- Load and assign training courses.
- Maintain training matrices and employee training records.
- Perform manual training updates and data corrections as needed.
- Develop and maintain training compliance dashboards and reports.
- Monitor completion status and support overdue training follow-up.
- Track temporary employees and contractor training requirements.
- Provide reports and analytics to support leadership decision making.
Workers’ Compensation & Case Management
- Coordinate workers’ compensation administration activities.
- Serve as liaison between AFL, insurance carriers, clinics, and third-party administrators.
- Maintain claim documentation and medical case records.
- Track claim status, expenses, settlements, and return-to-work activities.
- Support injury reporting and case management processes.
- Monitor medical restrictions and recovery progress.
- Maintain workers’ compensation metrics and reports.
Incident Management & Regulatory Recordkeeping
- Maintain incident records within ETQ or other company systems.
- Support investigation documentation and corrective action tracking.
- Generate and maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 records.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of incident data.
- Develop routine reports and dashboards identifying trends and opportunities for risk reduction.
- Assist with preparation of regulatory reports and submissions.
Contractor Safety Management
- Administer contractor compliance programs through Avetta and related platforms.
- Maintain contractor Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
- Support contractor prequalification and onboarding processes.
- Verify contractor documentation remains current and compliant.
