MissionThe successful candidate will demonstrate uncompromising commitment to safety excellence while leading paving operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist in scheduling field activities, subcontractors, and crew members.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications and schedule.
- Direct and supervise crew activities in the absence of the crew foreman.
- Analyze construction equipment needs and trucking requirements.
- Maintain daily project records, crew timesheets, and event logs.
- Train employees and enforce safety protocols.
- Supervise all phases of paving operations, including equipment maintenance and product distribution.
- Implement environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.
- Maintain and repair equipment and keep it serviced, lubricated, and in good working order.
- Recognize potential problems to prevent breakdowns and ensure safe operation.
- Understand the dangers associated with interstate operations and follow company policies.
Yes – will supervise crew and front‑line operations.
Job Requirements- Experience in roadway and site construction.
- Knowledge of traffic control standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to the company’s safety program.
- Ability to operate paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, broom tractors, lute, and tack trucks.
- Travel in short intervals may be required.
- Fluent in English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years’ experience in road paving management.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before employees.
- Apply common sense in detailed written or oral instructions.
- Manage problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Perform arithmetic with units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
Must climb onto and operate machinery, stand and walk frequently, and lift or move up to 60 lbs. Requires adequate vision (20/40) and hearing.
Work EnvironmentExposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, vibration, fumes, and high, precarious locations. Noise level is usually loud.
