Summary

The Logistics Coordinator handles transactional work on the accounts and works closely with transportation providers (Carriers) and internal support teams to identify opportunities for improvement. The Coordinator serves as the primary transactional, day‑to‑day contact and handles the customer service role at plant level. The role contributes to achieving Pro Trans objectives and develops supply chain solutions to enhance the Customer’s experience.

Logistics Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate with LTL carriers to confirm pickups and deliveries, handle exceptions, and perform check calls in Pro Trans’ TMS System.
  • Facilitate successful border crossing operations in conjunction with the Border Crossing team and notify Customers of any deviations in customs processes.
  • Arrange expedite shipment needs of the Customer and effectively communicate with Pro Trans’ Expedite team.
  • Assist customers’ plants with daily operational issue resolution.
  • Escalate service level issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Communicate holiday schedules to customers and/or internal adjustments at Pro Trans.
  • Ensure the customer is aware of any exceptions in performance or delays.
  • Ensure reporting is distributed as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Work with Pro Trans’ Accounts Receivable team to secure timely billing processes.
Additionally, For 3PL Accounts
  • Manage logistics plans by fully understanding customer plans, gathering, and submitting complete changes or adjustments.
  • Enter bid requests as necessary to accommodate plan adjustments.
  • Handle unplanned requests for the customer.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role may serve as a team leader for an assigned work group.

Qualifications
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills; strong customer service to resolve complex logistics issues.
  • Serve as an integral point‑of‑contact between Pro Trans and the Customer.
  • Interact with varying levels of management and operations within a matrixed organization.
  • Remain compliant with Customs and C‑TPAT regulations and procedures.
  • Adapt and react to frequently changing logistics circumstances.
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to multitask and manage several concurrent projects.
Education and/or Experience
  • +1 year of industry experience in logistics and supply chain and/or a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a business‑related field.
  • Automotive logistics experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally within the Pro Trans International network.
  • Experience using web‑based business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office.
Language Skills
  • Solid verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in English and Spanish before a group of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, trends, statistical techniques, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs.
