Seal Wire Operator

Shift: Morning Pay Rate: $21.00

Summary The Seal Wire Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining seal wire production equipment to ensure consistent, high quality output. This role supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials, setting up machines, performing quality checks, and maintaining accurate production records. The operator must follow safety standards, meet production targets, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate seal wire machinery according to established procedures and production schedules.
  • Set up machines, load materials, adjust settings, and verify proper alignment and tension of seal wire.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make routine adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Inspect finished seal wire for defects such as breaks, inconsistencies, or improper dimensions.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance when mechanical issues arise.
  • Maintain accurate logs of production output, scrap, downtime, and material usage.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and equipment handling procedures.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on machines to ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, quality technicians, and other operators to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Basic computer skills for entering production data.
  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and industrial materials.
  • Requires use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • May involve rotating shifts, overtime, or weekend work depending on production needs.
