Job Summary:
Responsible for daily operation of an asphalt production plant, including safety, compliance, and quality control.
Main Responsibilities:
- Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiency
- Effectively coordinate the day-to-day work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are met
- Actively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety and employee development
- Assist with training, coaching and development of employees to perform at their highest level
- Maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and Company business groups
- Effectively communicate in a professional manner in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels
- Establish plant production schedules to meet supply, schedule, and delivery needs
- Use computer system to enter and maintain data, manage schedules, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondence
- Batch and inspect loads to ensure consistency of mix
- Coordinate scheduling of plant equipment maintenance
- Order and maintain inventory of raw materials supply
- Safely operate company equipment, tooling, and vehicles as needed
Qualification:
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 5-7 years of experience in Asphalt Paving
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day. Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
