High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred. Training in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), blueprint reading, metrology, or quality systems is highly desirable.
Experience RequirementsMinimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing or job shop environment. Experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools with FANUC controls. Proficiency editing CNC programs and utilizing wear and geometry offsets. Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Renishaw Probing Systems, SPC data collection, and First Article Inspections (FAI). Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, inspection methods, and quality standards including ISO/TS, IRIS, AAR, and CMMI.
PhysicalCapabilities
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the workday. Capable of working safely around CNC machinery, cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment. Ability to perform precision work requiring close attention to detail and accuracy. Must maintain a safe, organized work area while adhering to 5S standards.
Job DutiesSet up and operate multiple CNC machine tools simultaneously while meeting production and quality goals. Achieve target productivity levels of 90% or greater based on cycle times. Troubleshoot machining issues, make process adjustments, and minimize downtime. Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, CMM equipment, and engineering blueprints. Complete FAI documentation, collect and analyze SPC data, and make process improvements based on results.
Perform TPM inspections and complete required maintenance checklists. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including SMED, Kaizen events, fixture design, and manufacturing process enhancements. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while delivering finished products to precise specifications.
