The Quality Shift Lead ensures that conforming product is being shipped and support duties for production are complete. The lead person is the link on each shift that ensures the flow of communication from the floor to management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for part assignments for inspection.
- Responsible for collecting daily testing parts.
- Responsible for decisions affecting product.
- Responsible for monitoring special test projects.
- Communicate process/product issues to management (verbal and written).
- Ensure product in hold area is identified, logged and processed.
- Process Audits for previous or post shifts (as scheduled).
- Attend shift meetings and communicate pertinent information.
- Responsible for training.
- Responsible for verifying that inspectors are following the path inspection.
- Responsible for managing staffing for inspectors.
- Check parts for conformance to customer standards.
- Communicate quality issues to line lead, quality engineer, and quality manager in a timely manner.
- Identify nonconforming material.
- Manage quarantine/sorts
- Approve material for shipment/production/scrap (First Piece Inspection).
- Perform lab tests and document results when needed.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies. Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the quality function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
- Ability to stop production in the event of nonconforming materials.
- Additional duties as needed and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Must have experience in the lab or inspection.
- Basic computer skills-Microsoft Office
EXPERIENCE:
Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.
LANGUAGESKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
MATHEMATICALSKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
