MEC Aerial Work Platforms is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our Duncan, SC operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong handyman and general maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and helping keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, mechanically inclined, communicates professionally, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeep
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs
• Maintain warehouse, production, and office areas in a safe and organized condition
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely to move materials and support facility needs
• Assist with equipment setup, shop organization, and preventative maintenance projects
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility-related issues
• Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal management teams
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and service providers performing facility-related work
• Monitor contractor work to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards
• Support outside vendors and contractors when needed
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and OSHA standards
• Demonstrate a willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and work collaboratively when unfamiliar issues arise
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous handyman, maintenance technician, facilities, warehouse, or mechanical experience preferred
• Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, vendors, and contractors
• Ability to supervise or coordinate contractors and outside service providers on facility projects
• Comfortable asking for direction or assistance when needed and open to continued learning and development
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
