Police Officer – Duncanville Police Department

The Duncanville Police Department serves a community of over 40,000 citizens and is dedicated to recruiting, hiring, and training highly skilled and qualified professionals who reflect the diversity of the community.

Role Overview

Police officers provide public safety, enforce laws, investigate crimes, respond to emergencies, and work cooperatively with community members and partner agencies.

Qualifications
  • Current Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer certification.
  • Completed Personal History Statement submitted on the test date.
  • Ability to pass the agency’s written, physical, medical, and interview examinations.
  • Strong communication, judgment, and problem‑solving skills.
Compensation

Pay is based on experience and follows the departmental pay scale. New officers with no experience receive a $2,500 bonus upon completion of field training. Officers with a current TCOLE certification may receive up to $20,000 bonus upon completion of field training.

Annual salary ranges (projected) per experience level:

  • No previous experience: $75,387 – $101,267
  • 1 year credited previous experience: $77,649 – $101,267
  • 2 years credited: $79,979 – $101,267
  • 3 years credited: $82,378 – $101,267
  • 4 years credited: $90,616 – $101,267
  • 5 years credited: $95,147 – $101,267
