Dairy Supervisor

Position Summary

The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dairy department, ensuring product quality, proper inventory levels, and an exceptional shopping experience for customers. This role supports department leadership in driving sales, managing shrink, and leading associates to maintain a clean, fully stocked, and well-presented department.

Key Responsibilities

Department Operations

* Oversee daily dairy department activities including stocking, rotation, and merchandising

* Ensure all products meet quality, freshness, and food safety standards

* Maintain proper temperature controls and monitor refrigeration equipment

* Execute product displays, promotions, and planograms according to company standards

Customer Service

* Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and assist customers with product selection

* Address and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner

* Promote featured items and seasonal offerings to drive sales

Inventory & Shrink Control

* Support ordering and inventory management to ensure in-stock conditions while minimizing overstock

* Manage product rotation (FIFO method) and ensure proper dating standards are followed

* Monitor and reduce shrink through effective handling, storage, and inventory practices

Team Support & Leadership

* Supervise and support dairy associates to ensure efficient workflow and productivity

* Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring team members on department standards and expectations

* Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safety

Merchandising & Standards

* Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing department at all times

* Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays are fully stocked and properly signed

* Follow all company policies, food safety guidelines, and sanitation requirements

Safety & Compliance

* Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations

* Maintain a safe working environment by following proper equipment usage and procedures

* Support compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* 1-2 years of grocery, dairy, or retail experience preferred

* Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

* Basic knowledge of inventory systems and merchandising practices preferred

Physical Requirements

* Ability to work in refrigerated conditions for extended periods

* Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 40 lbs

* Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift

* Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
