Temporary Position*
* ** DESCRIPTION
* * Under the supervision of the School Administration, the Lunch Recess Monitor assists and monitors students during the lunch and recess periods at the Elementary and Middle School. Lunch and Recess Monitors are hired on as needed basis and will be contacted by the school directly.
** Lunch Recess Monitors are hired by recommendation only.
** Lunch and Recess Monitors are expected to maintain a professional attitude toward their work and support the mission and goals of the school system.  
** Interested candidates are encouraged to contact schools directly to notify them of their interest.
**** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

** ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

* Avoids engaging in or encouraging discussions of inappropriate or non-school related topics
* Becomes familiar with emergency procedures
* Notifies school administration of any unusual incidents which have occurred during the school day
* Reports suspected child abuse/neglect per Howard County Public School System policy
* Other duties as assigned.
** Working Hours
*** The working hours will be determined by the work location and the school administrators.

** Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be included in the pool.
** Lunch and Recess Monitors are hired by recommendation only.

* School administrators in need of Lunch Recess Monitors will contact applicants directly to schedule an interview.
* If selected by the school, the Office of Temporary Services will contact the applicant and will process the application.
