Step into a rewarding opportunity working with students as a part-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired! As an advocate for accessibility and inclusion, you’ll make a positive impact across educational settings near Stevensville, MD. Collaborate with school staff, students, and families to help visually impaired learners thrive throughout the academic year. • Active Maryland teaching certification is required
• Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
• Proficiency in creating and adapting instructional materials for Braille, large print, and assistive technology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development
• Adapt curriculum materials and recommend/access appropriate assistive technology
• Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student independence and success
• Offer training and guidance to educators regarding accommodations, strategies, and best practices
• Maintain accurate records and participate in relevant meetings through the duration of the contract

This part-time position allows you to balance other commitments while making a lasting difference in students’ educational journeys. With a clear start and end date running from August 31, 2026, to June 14, 2027, you can plan your professional and personal calendar accordingly.

Compensation for this position ranges from $27.50 to $47.50. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
