Senior Civil Design Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Mid-Atlantic engineering team. The role requires experience with land development and will be multi-disciplinary. Excellent oral and written communication skills, timely solutions, and responsiveness to clients are valued. The position offers hybrid work possibilities. Travel within Maryland/DC for site visits and various project meetings will be required.

• Manage all phases of project execution including organization, delivery, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.
• Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts for complex, multi-disciplinary utility and pipeline projects.
• Lead, grow, and mentor staff, supporting their professional career goals.
• Oversee pursuits, assign appropriate resources, define client needs, address concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget.
• Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring quality standards and driving customer value.
• Develop new approaches to problems encountered.
• Collaborate on design and construction management projects, striving for continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with technical and client service teams and within client organizations.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, clients and stakeholders.

• Bachelor of Engineering required;
  Civil or Environmental Engineering degree preferred.
• 12+ years of related experience, including 5+ years of project management.
• Demonstrated project experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state (Maryland), and local laws and regulations required.
• Experience with County land development regulations/regulators preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution or acceptable equivalent.
• Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain PE within 6 months.

• Client-facing relationships with private energy companies.
• Experience with civil design for transmission and distribution projects.
• Proven track record of developing client relationships and growing programs.
• Leadership positions in industry or community organizations.
• Supervisory experience in training, developing, and mentoring junior engineers.
