Position:
Environmental Permitting and Operational Engineer
Tradepoint Atlantic, LLC. is seeking an Environmental Permitting and Operational Engineer to join its Corporate headquarters located in Sparrows Point, MD to help coordinate remediation and facility activities across a 3,300-acre site. This role will be responsible for facility maintenance support (regulatory interface), Voluntary Clean Up Program (VCP) compliance submittals (including cap inspections and reports), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR), permit tracking and compliance support, as well as supporting construction and development projects.
EssentialResponsibilities and Duties
- Environmental permitting
- Support Land Use Restriction and Environmental Covenant implementation
- Prepare and submit environmental permit applications
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies
- Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Maintain permit compliance documentation
- Track permit renewals and reporting deadlines
Support environmental impact assessments - Review environmental assessment and work plan reports
- Support remediation system installation and startup
- Monitor remediation system operation, compliance, and maintenance
- Manage subcontractors
- Preparation of remedial cost estimates for potential and known environmental liabilities
- Evaluate data and prepare written proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Prepare budget estimates and work-scopes, primarily for engineering tasks
- Support remediation conducted under the Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) in Maryland.
- BA or BS degree in Chemical Engineering
- 5-7 years experience
- Technical experience using GPS, CAD, GIS
- Experience with permitting processes
- Knowledge of environmental regulations
- Understanding of industrial operations and process engineering
- Experience with managing environmental investigations and remediation projects at complex CERCLA or RCRA sites and MDE Voluntary Cleanup Program sites
- Field work experience in civil/environmental engineering and construction supervision a plus
- Experience managing project budgets
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written
- Good working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Working familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, and NEPA
