Nature of Work:The Transportation Engineer IV-Traffic will perform mid-level professional transportation work. This position will assist the Team Leader and the Assistant District Engineer of Traffic in the preparation of highway construction projects for advertisement, including, but not limited to, field investigations, engineering studies, review of sign and pavement marking plans, roadway development plans, traffic impact analyses, cost estimates, work zone Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) approvals, and reports.
This position will respond to citizens for traffic-related concerns, including but not limited to signs, pavement markings, flex posts, speed, sidewalk, crosswalk, streetlights, traffic signals, and various operational issues that involve significant coordination with various SHA support divisions, engineering design consultants, other state and county agencies, and community representatives throughout the project development process.
The Transportation Engineer also assists in project development for the following programs:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in professional engineering.
Licenses & Certifications:
Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license.
