CFG Bank's 2027 Summer Internship Program offers Accounting majors the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the banking and financial services industry. This internship is designed for students who want to apply accounting principles learned in the classroom to real-world business operations while developing a deeper understanding of financial reporting, controls, compliance, and the accounting functions that support a growing financial institution.
This program is ideal for students who are detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and interested in building a foundation for a career in accounting, finance, auditing, or banking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAbout the Internship:
- Comprehensive orientation and ongoing workshops to foster learning and development.
- Meaningful work assignments that allow interns to apply finance, accounting, economics, and business concepts to real-world projects.
- Career development opportunities with guidance from corporate leaders, including internship managers, senior mentors, and program coordinators.
- Exposure to accounting and operational functions within the banking industry, including financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and internal controls.

General Responsibilities:
Accounting Track interns may be responsible for:
- Assisting with account reconciliations, financial reporting processes, and ongoing accounting activities.
- Supporting the preparation and review of financial data, schedules, and reports.
- Analyzing financial information to identify trends, discrepancies, or improvement opportunities.
- Conducting research and preparing presentations related to accounting and business operations.
- Attending meetings, taking detailed notes, and summarizing key takeaways or follow-up items.
- Supporting process improvement, documentation, or administrative tasks as needed.
- Shadowing professionals across various departments to gain a broader understanding of CFG Bank and the banking industry.
- Preparing and presenting a final project or reflection that highlights internship experience, key learnings, and professional growth.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Strong interest in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, compliance, banking, or business operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
