Frontend Software Engineer

Northstratis seeking a motivated Frontend Developer who is passionate about building intuitive applications that meet the needs of our users. Asking questions, failing fast, and writing maintainable code are at the center of what we do while building applications for a Data Lake/Warehouse. Work is performed in a hybrid environment witha great team.

• Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications.
• JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review.
• Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences.
• Help define and interact with REST basedAPI’s.
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues in applications and providing support.
• Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing.

• You must have an activeor current US government Top SecretU.S. Government Security Clearancein order to be eligible to for this role.
• At least 5 years of experience with front end software development/engineering with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• You must have 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Must be comfortable working on a
  * nix command line.
• Self-motivation;
  Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly.
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3days per week at our Columbia, MDoffice. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

• Previous experience with a Data Lake/Warehouse is a plus.

• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may berequiredin this position as directed by the customer.

Northstrat does not mandate specific working hours. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month. For example:
John worked 12 hours on June 1st to meet a project deadline. On June 15th, John only worked 4 hours because he left early for a long weekend. John’s IBA was not debited for time off because flex time allowed him to carry over those 4 hours from June 1st.
