- Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux systems, servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud computing environments
- Monitor system performance and conduct capacity analysis
- Address performance bottlenecks to ensure efficiency and availability
- Implement security measures and conduct audits
- Ensure compliance with organizational and federal security requirements
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools
- Perform software updates, patches, and upgrades while testing functionality and compatibility
- Create and update system documentation covering configurations, processes, and procedures
- Partner with application teams and IT stakeholders on system integration, patch workflows, and maintenance
- Drive infrastructure scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency
- Support critical IT operations for federal government projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8-10+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience across enterprise environments
- Deep proficiency in Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu
- Expertise in command-line interfaces and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, and firewalls
- DOE Q or TS Clearance required
- US Citizenship required
- Preferred: RHCE, LPIC-2/LPIC-3, or equivalent certification
- Preferred:
Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes - Preferred:
Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NIST, or CIS benchmarks - Less than 10% travel required
Demonstrates extensive expertise in Linux Systems Administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux environments, as well as proficiency in scripting and automation tools. Ensures compliance with security standards and effectively collaborates with IT stakeholders to drive operational efficiency.
