System Administrator – Linux​/Windows, Security

• Install applications and administer systems and processes
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Optimize server and desktop configurations for reliable, continuous, and efficient operations
• Perform security management and application performance optimization
• Administer and sustain a web-based application for storing, sharing, and distributing information
• Create and maintain complex server enclaves
• Analyze system scanning reports, perform patching and certificate renewals, conduct vulnerability management assessments, and configure Active Directory
• Identify and correct hardware and software issues
• Respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems and develop re-work solutions
• Document complex server/network environments for incident resolution
• Communicate with users and external support personnel regarding system outages and upgrades
• Confer with upper management on recommended resolution options
• Support geographically distributed and air-gapped systems, server and workstation environments, software and hardware deployments, patching, system hardening, backup and recovery, system upgrades, and accreditation activities
• Collaborate with technical teams and users
• Travel locally and periodically CONUS and OCONUS

• Substantial experience as a systems administrator supporting large groups of end users and technical staff
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience supporting Linux and Microsoft-based servers and workstations
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with operating system and application hardening, including DISA, best practices, and high‑assurance environments
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with software and hardware deployment, patch management, operating systems, and system backup and restore functions
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and Active Directory
• Ability to travel, including local area travel and occasional 1–2 week CONUS and OCONUS trips annually
• U.S. Citizenship required
• TS/SCI Security Clearance with an appropriate Polygraph required
• Preferred:
  Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Preferred:
  Experience building, configuring, and maintaining large, distributed Trellix ePO environments
• Preferred:
  Strong scripting experience with SALT and Python
• Preferred:
  Hands‑on experience with Red Hat 7/8, VMware, Apache Tomcat, IIS, SQL Server, and KVMs
• Preferred:
  Experience supporting security accreditation and certification, advanced security protocols, and network security technologies, including PKI, SSP, multi‑domain environments, and vulnerability assessment
• Preferred:
  Experience with client and server virtualization, hardware installation and troubleshooting, system optimization, disk arrays, Power Shell, PowerCLI, HSMs, and NTP
• Preferred:
  Solid understanding of information security principles, software security, and security architecture

Demonstrates extensive experience in systems administration, including support for Linux and Microsoft-based servers, application hardening, and security management. Proficient in managing complex server environments, optimizing system performance, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
