Position: Builder / Assembler

Job Description

Thompson First Group is seeking Builders and Assemblers for a contract to hire position with a local client in Millington, MD.

Candidates with hands on experience and have worked with toold and measuring devices in a manufacturing setting are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Experience in This Position

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, or electronic components, subassemblies, products, and systems according to work instructions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform precise assembly work.
  • Install components, wiring, fasteners, and casings using bolts, rivets, soldering, or micro-welding techniques.
  • Clean parts and finished assemblies using approved cleaning methods and materials.
  • Inspect work to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain production equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe manufacturing environment.
  • Communicate with team members, leads, and supervisors to address issues and priorities.
  • Review work, support production planning, and assist with training or coaching other assemblers (lead-level roles).

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and basic assembly equipment.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small or detailed parts.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to communicate schedule changes as needed.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team while following established procedures.
  • Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.
  • Additional experience and the ability to guide or train others for lead-level positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Shift:

  • 1st

    Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday
    - Friday
  • 3rd

    Shift: 7 pm to 5:30 am, Monday
    - Thursday
