THE ROLE
The Electrical Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining all plant electrical, instrumentation, and electronic equipment. This role also supports special projects as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor or Department Manager to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH- Perform electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency call-out tasks while maintaining code compliance, quality workmanship, and professionalism.
- Recommend modifications to preventative maintenance and repair (PMR) job plans.
- Identify and recommend additional spare parts requirements.
- Maintain the integrity and appearance of plant electrical systems.
- Ensure equipment reliability meets established operational standards.
- Troubleshoot issues to maintain maximum productivity.
- Report maintenance concerns to the immediate supervisor.
- Supervise and/or train contractors as required.
- Generate work order notifications and ensure proper follow-up.
- Document completed work orders and maintain detailed maintenance history.
- Record and track repeat problems to prevent rework and improve long-term solutions.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred Field of Study:
Electrical Technology
- Minimum 3 years of electrical experience in cement manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
- Ability to meet on-call responsibilities and respond to emergency call-outs in support of 24/7 plant operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing, in accordance with applicable regulations.
