OverviewJoined the Sign Operations Section of the Traffic Operations Division in Anne Arundel County. This is an entry‑level position that assists with all aspects of sign fabrication, including preparing metal blanks, applying text and silk‑screened messages, and operating related equipment. The role includes maintaining reliable communication for emergency call‑back requirements and may involve evening, night, and weekend work.
Responsibilities- Preparing flat and extruded aluminum blanks for text application.
- Applying messages in accordance with MUTCD standards.
- Operating hydraulic shears, silk screen tables, squeeze roller applicators, corner radius machines, and other hand and power tools.
- Maintaining close supervision under the Sign Operations Supervisor and ensuring a reliable communication link for emergency call‑back requirements.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications- Basic mathematical calculation ability
- Clear written and verbal communication in English
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
The successful candidate must possess a Class C motor vehicle operator’s license with less than 4 points and must complete forklift operations training within six months of hire.
