The Industrial Control Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated industrial control systems. This role requires strong expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and electrical controls to support efficient and reliable plant operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley platforms, industrial networks, and motor control systems, along with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Core Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems, including PLCs such as Allen-Bradley (Control Logix, Compact Logix) and/or Siemens
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications, including ladder logic and structured text
  • Proficiency in HMI development and support (Factory Talk View, Panel View, WinCC, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with SCADA systems for system monitoring, control, and data acquisition
  • Hands-on experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, soft starters, and servo systems
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Device Net, Profibus, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of sensors, transmitters, instrumentation, and automated systems
  • Experience with control panel installation, wiring, and component replacement
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley software such as Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk
  • Familiarity with SCADA configuration, alarming, and data trending
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Exposure to robotics or advanced automation systems

  • Strong commitment to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and OSHA standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
