Overview
Captivation is seeking a mid-level software engineer for back-end development and Dev Ops engineering to support mission-driven work for national security.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Spring Boot and Java.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend services deployed on AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with Dev Ops, frontend, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using tools such as Cloud Watch, Prometheus, or ELK.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph; candidates must be a U.S. citizen.

- Annual Salary: $130,000 – $270,000 (depends on years of experience)
- 401(k) contribution up to 20% (no employer match; vested from day
1) - Above-market hourly rates
- $3,600 HSA contribution
