Lot Attendant

1. Purpose To ensure a safe, efficient, and professional check-in process for truck drivers arriving at our facility.
2. Scope Applies to all personnel assigned to trucker check-in duties as Lot Attendant at the Terminal Parking Lot at 1201 Wallace Street.
3. Responsibilities Greet and assign trucks to a designated parking area Complete documentation for driver check in process at Shipping & Receiving Maintain order in Terminal Parking Lot and any truck traffic overflow on Wallace Street and/or East Fort Avenue When necessary, coordinate with Security, Shipping & Receiving and operations teams.
4. Required Equipment Safety vest and  device
-radio and phone

Clipboard with ample supply of Motor Carrier Info Sheet (contact shipping for additional supplies)5. Procedure Step 1:
Site Preparation Ensure the check-in area is clean, and free of obstructions.

Confirm parking signages are visible

Step 2:
Driver Arrival Approach the vehicle safely and visibly.

Greet the driver courteously and request identification.

Step 3:
Documentation Completion Complete the Motor Carrier Info Sheet with information from Driver and visual truck/trailer check (example annex
1)
Request CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) to enter driver’s full name on Sheet Log in the arrival time on sheet (top right corner)
Step 4:
Parking & Check in Provide the driver with the completed Motor Carrier Info Sheet Provide the driver with instructions for parking and Shipping and Receiving check-in process

Step 5:
Special Cases If the driver appears impaired or unsafe, follow site safety protocols and escalate to supervisor.

Check for visible vehicle issues (e.g., leaks, unsecured cargo).Step 7:
End of Shift Duties Report any incidents or irregularities.

Secure lot station and equipment.
6. Safety and Compliance Adhere to company-specific safety protocols.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

The Lot Attendant reports directly to the Terminal Manager
