Location:
Sunshine Day Nursery, Royal Hallamshire / Northern General Town Sheffield. Salary £24,937 – £26,598 per annum pro‑rate for part‑time staff.
We are looking for Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioners to join our Sunshine Day Nursery teams at Royal Hallamshire and Northern General hospitals. The nursery provides year‑round childcare to NHS and hospital staff, caring for up to 144 children across dedicated baby, toddler and pre‑school units with extended opening hours (6.30am – 7pm) and a school‑holiday club at Northern General.
Main responsibilities- Support the Senior Nursery Practitioner in delivering an excellent quality service.
- Provide a stimulating, inclusive environment that fosters independence and resourcefulness.
- Develop and implement high‑quality learning opportunities and activities using the EYFS framework and Ofsted guidance.
- Plan, prepare and organise suitable resources and activities for children of all ages.
- Display children’s work to promote self‑esteem.
- Maintain good communication with parents and carers, including information displays.
- Support the development of Childcare Assistants, Apprentices and Students.
- Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification.
- Literacy and numeracy skills to Level 2 (NVQ 3 in Childcare/Education or equivalent).
- General IT skills.
- First‑Aid Certificate.
- Safeguarding Certificate.
- Experience in a child‑care setting, EYFS curriculum planning, child development and health & hygiene.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality in a childcare setting.
- Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Team working and partnership with parents and external agencies.
- Willingness to undertake required training.
