Soil Scientist About The Role

EKFB is looking for a Soil Scientist to join our team based in the Buckingham area.

In this role you will audit the stockpiling, management, handling and auditing of topsoil and subsoil stockpiles to satisfy the requirements of the contract. This will include working with and directing the site team in these operations and recording information about the soil and its management.

You will be responsible for assessment of stockpiled soil condition (limited to physical characteristics such as plasticity and soil storage/handling practices), inspection of soil reconditioning windrows, inspection of restored soil profiles and ITP review, and provision of soil condition reports detailing the restoration works undertaken.

You will have an understanding of the engineering and construction requirements and methodology of a large construction scheme, the ability to work independently and make decisions, and an appreciation of lines of communication on site. You will provide direction and advice to contractors as necessary and offer practical solutions where required. Lead soil scientists or practitioners carrying out soil surveys should have experience in field surveys of soils and recording the natural physical properties of soils.
