Installation Technician

Role OverviewAs an Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality installations of audio‑visual, lighting, automation, access control, and network technologies across customer sites. You’ll represent Hutchison Technologies with professionalism, technical expertise, and a strong customer‑focused approach.
Key Responsibilities Technical Installation- Install audio‑visual, lighting, and automation systems
- Install access control solutions including turnstiles, car park barriers, and maglocks
- Install structured cabling and network infrastructure
- Work to consistently high technical standards on every site
- Support the service team when required
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematic
- Complete job forms, timesheets, mileage and expenses claims
- Record stock usage and manage equipment/material returns
- Maintain a professional, respectful presence on customer sites
- Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
- Deliver excellent customer service throughout each installation
- Take ownership of installation quality and customer satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure clarity and confidence
- Identify potential improvements or innovative solutions and escalate to your line manager
- Take responsibility for mistakes and use them as opportunities to learn
- Contribute to a strong "one team" culture through collaboration and open communication
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet business needs
- Maintain a positive, hardworking, and enthusiastic attitude
- Follow all on‑site health and safety procedures
- Adhere to company quality standards at all times
- Be mindful of project costs and support efficient stock management
- Use time effectively and understand the cost impact of delays
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a technical or installation‑based role
- High level of technical competence+
- ECS/CSCS card
- IPAF
- PASMA
- AVIXA CTS‑I
- UKATA certification
- SSSTS
- Electrical qualification, or a qualification in telecommunications or audio systems
