Role Description The Advanced Plumber will work on-site in the Greater Dundee Area in a full-time capacity, handling complex plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs in residential and commercial properties. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, heating systems, and sanitary appliances, as well as diagnosing and resolving plumbing faults and leaks. The role involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications, ensuring work complies with local regulations and safety standards, and coordinating with other trades on construction and refurbishment projects.
The Advanced Plumber will also carry out testing, inspection, and commissioning of systems, maintain accurate records of work completed, and communicate clearly with site supervisors, colleagues, and clients. The position may require occasional emergency call-outs and flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
Qualifications
- Strong technical plumbing skills, including installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of domestic and commercial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with building and plumbing regulations.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety practices, safe use of tools and equipment, and adherence to site procedures and risk assessments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with other trades and interact professionally with clients.
- Relevant plumbing qualifications or certifications (e.g., recognized trade apprenticeship, NVQ/SVQ or equivalent) and proven experience in advanced plumbing work.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Full, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Greater Dundee Area as required.
- Experience in construction environments and familiarity with UK building standards; gas or heating system certifications are an advantage.
