What we’re looking forWe are looking for someone who is genuinely
multi-skilled and hands-on
.
You don’t necessarily need to come from one particular trade, but you should have good practical experience in property or building maintenance and be comfortable dealing with a wide variety of everyday maintenance issues.
Experience in any of the following would be particularly useful:- Joinery
- Plumbing
- General building maintenance
- Facilities or estates maintenance
- Care home, healthcare, hotel or similar multi-site environments
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Building compliance and safety checks
You should be able to assess a problem, work out the most sensible solution and complete repairs to a good standard.
Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working around residents and staff.
Working as part of the Estates TeamYou will work closely with our
Senior Maintenance Technician
, with both engineers having their own company van and working across the estate.
The wider team also includes dedicated painting/decorating and grounds maintenance personnel.
We deliberately operate the maintenance engineers independently for much of the working week rather than having two people travelling together unnecessarily. This allows us to provide better coverage and visibility across our homes.
For larger jobs, projects or tasks requiring two people, the engineers work together.
On-callThe role will also participate in the Estates Team’s
shared out-of-hours on-call rota
, providing emergency maintenance support outside normal working hours.
On-call is shared across the wider maintenance team rather than being the responsibility of one individual.
Separate standby and call-out arrangements apply.
What we offer- Permanent full-time employment
- 37.5-hour working week
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Salary: TBA depending on experience
