Job Description Dundee City Council is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, state-of-the-art workshop, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles that support essential council services across the city. Based at Marchbanks Workshops, 34 Harefield Road, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
The annual salary for this post is in the region of £37,053. A market supplement, which is subject to an annual review, of £5093 will be applied, totalling in the region of £42,146 per annum. Employee benefits include 27 days of annual leave which increases to 32 days after 5 years of service, and an additional 5 fixed public holidays.
There is a contributory pension scheme, with the employer contributing 15.7%, and options of AVC's and Ill Health Retirement enhancements. You will have a City and Guilds/ Scotvec Craft or Technicians Certificate or equivalent VQ level
3.Responsibilities You will be required to carry out all aspects of scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and repairs on a wide range of light and heavy goods vehicles, plant and equipment as required.
The Individual You will have experience of servicing, maintenance, repairs and overhauls to vehicles, plant and equipment with a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and be capable of using your own initiative. You will have good verbal and written communication skills both oral and be customer focused.
You will be required to attend relevant training courses. You will have a full current driving licence.
