We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our Senior Management Team. The role offers an opportunity to inspire and influence positive change within our residential child care homes.

About the role

The successful applicant will lead a team of House Managers and Residential Services across a cluster of homes in Scotland. This key leadership position is responsible for creating stable, safe, and caring environments for the young people in our care.

Common Thread operates 14 residential child care homes across Scotland. As a member of our senior management team you will support the development of these services and meet the needs of the children we care for.

What we look for

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within residential child care or a relevant field
• Relevant professional qualifications in Social Work / Social Care (e.g., SVQ Level 4 Social Services – Children & Young People, SVQ Leadership & Management for Care Services Level
  4)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• A trauma‑informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
• Ability to manage a team of House Managers with empathy and professionalism
• Flexibility to participate in on‑call duties, including weekends
• Full UK driving licence
