Reports to: Director of Food Services

The Cook assists in the implementation of the assigned school meal program.

• Perform various duties for food preparation efficiently and timely as assigned by the Head Cook.
• Clean utensils, equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas daily to maintain sanitary conditions as assigned by the Head Cook.
• Collect payments daily on food items from students and staff for transaction completion and/or securing funds.
• Attend training at the start of each school year to monitor students’ food choices daily for meeting mandated meal component requirements and ensuring adequate nutrition for USDA meal reimbursements; failure to comply could result in loss of reimbursement from the USDA.
• Comply with all food safety requirements, including wardrobe, handwashing, and hair net requirements.

• Maintain a neat personal appearance and a pleasant demeanor with students, staff, and parents.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Education level and knowledge sufficient to meet performance requirements of the position.
• Previous food services experience preferred.

  Calculating, comparing, evaluation, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying.
• Physical Demands:
  Bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, standing for prolonged periods, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
• Environmental Conditions:
  
  The work is performed primarily indoors; however, outside work is required on occasion. Travel between buildings may be a requirement.
