Job Requirements
M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency program
Board Certification in Anesthesiology (required for North Carolina anesthesia jobs)
Active North Carolina physician license
ECFMG and FLEX eligibility (if applicable)
Minimum 1 year of clinical anesthesia experience
Ability to cross-credential at multiple North Carolina hospital sites
Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate activities in the hospital anesthesia department
Provide medical management for patients receiving anesthesia for surgery and procedures
Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and verify patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients and families
Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitor patients' physiological condition during procedures
Perform clinical interventions and respond to emergencies as needed
Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and manage independent anesthesia cases
