Job Overview
Mingo Baptist Church is located in rural northern Sampson County. Our conservative multigenerational church is prayerfully seeking a full‑time youth minister for our growing children and youth ministry. We are located in the Midway school district and are in close proximity to Fayetteville, Clinton or Dunn, NC.
ReportingResponsible to:
Senior Pastor
Provide leadership and oversight for all youth and children’s student ministries; lead in establishing a vision and goals for the faith education of the children and youth of Mingo Baptist Church; aid in developing Christian maturity through an understanding and application of Christian principles as expressed in the Bible.
General Responsibilities- Be an engaging and relatable teacher who connects well with students of all ages and communicates the gospel with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Provide Biblical counseling and guidance to youth.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment for all children and youth.
- Collaborate with volunteers and teachers to develop, guide, and support Biblical curriculum that are biblically sound, engaging, and age‑appropriate.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers within the children’s and youth ministries.
- Mentor and disciple students, encouraging their personal walk with Christ and involvement in the church.
- Build strong relationships with families, partnering with parents to support faith development at home.
- Equip youth to share the gospel in their schools and communities.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
- Become a member of Mingo Baptist Church.
- Attend and participate in monthly Children’s and Youth Advisory Committee meetings.
- Teach Youth 1 or 2 Sunday School and Youth 1 or 2 Sunday Night Bible Study on a rotation.
- Coordinate with Senior Pastor, deacons, and appropriate leadership to communicate plans and participation of children and youth events monthly.
- Plan, organize, and attend youth retreats, camps, and mission trips to help deepen spiritual growth and fellowship.
- Encouraged to pursue continuing education such as seminars or other theological training.
- Attend student events (athletic events, performances, etc.).
- Participate in mission projects with students.
- Be accessible for students.
- Work to establish a relationship with children/youth in our community that do not have a church home.
Must possess a clear calling to ministry, a strong personal faith, experience with student discipleship, strong communication skills, and alignment with Baptist Faith and Message. A seminary degree and pastoral experience are preferred.
