American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details- Work on the 4th floor Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required between the Med/Surg Tele unit, sister campuses, and like units within scope
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and remote telemetry monitoring
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Community and teaching hospital experience preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside more than 50 miles from Main Campus (Cape Fear Valley Medical Center) to be considered a traveler
- RTO limited to a maximum of 4 days, with only 1 holiday approved per assignment
- Returning travelers must have been off assignment for at least 1 year before returning
- Extensions limited to once for day shift and twice for night shift, followed by a 6-month break before reapplying
- Pre-start training modules may be required, ranging from 4-10 hours
