Nature and Scope

Under the direction of the After School Director, the 21st Century Site Coordinator will primarily be responsible for oversight of the 21st CCL site, including supervising staff, ensuring compliance with Bright From The Start requirements, and supporting the 21st CCLC team with eLearning opportunities and delivery of the academic and enrichment components of the specified school site.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position’s scope and responsibility.
  • Stay updated on current issues regarding 21st CCLC programming.
  • Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that the 21st CCLC site runs smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
  • Collect and submit data and reports as required by 21st CCLC, Bright From The Start and CACFP.
  • Maintain YMCA branch and YMCA association certifications in CPR, Multi-Media First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation, Branch and off‑site Emergency procedures, and any other required certifications and/or training.
  • Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and school community.
  • Participate in and partner with After School cabinet activities as needed.
  • Maintain and report incident/accident paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Implement wellness checks and provide leadership to ensure member/staff adherence to safety protocols, with a commitment to positive member and staff safety.
  • Develop age and/or grade‑level appropriate lessons.
  • Provide homework and class‑work instruction and tutorials.
  • Collaborate with youth, parents and school day teachers to ensure youth receive effective academic sessions.
  • Facilitate all academic sessions and serve as the lead academic instructor.
  • Develop assessment tools to document academic progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and a Georgia Teaching Certificate.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with Title1 schools (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in extended‑day programming.
  • Required certifications:
    Teaching Certificate; must obtain any other certifications required for the position.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of 21st CCLC requirements.
  • Working knowledge of computers: MSWord, MSExcel, database management.
  • Attend required professional development activities.
  • Exemplify YMCA ideals and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem‑solve and possess effective time‑management skills.
  • Strong customer‑service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • Pass a criminal‑background and drug‑screening check.
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Record and have own transportation.
  • CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain CPR throughout employment.
  • Ergonomic capabilities: sitting, bending, stooping, standing; up to 15% repetitive keyboard work; lift up to 25lb.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
