Primary Duties- Maintain a record of all user requests in the service desk ticketing software to track calls and establish metrics.
- Close service desk calls as they are completed.
- Provide computer and network technical support to users via ticketing system, telephone, and in‑person.
- Assist users with a variety of technical issues involving various platforms, operating systems, and applications.
- Open and close the IT Service Desk depending on the shifts.
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades to ensure users have current and functional technology.
- Provide moderate computer training to users to ensure an efficient and successful computing experience.
- Set up, configure, and deploy computers and officially authorized software to users.
- Respond to service desk calls within level‑of‑service guidelines and follow up with users as needed.
- Duplicate complex problems in the lab for elaborate setup when necessary, and work with senior support or engineering staff to resolve complex issues.
- Alert manager to unusual problems or problem trends as they occur.
- Perform maintenance tasks, including loading paper and toner for the printer fleet.
- Ensure digital signages around campus are functional.
- Perform duties under the direction of IT management according to best judgment, requesting assistance when necessary.
- Recognize that errors by this position may have high impact on user productivity and could result in loss of user data or missed deadlines.
- Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to efficiently resolve user requests and build effective client relationships.
- Complete administrative reports and other duties as required.
- Current enrollment in a computer‑related program at Dunwoody College of Technology or equivalent experience with computers.
- Ideal candidate is in the 1st or 2nd semester of their program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support position.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the maintenance and installation of personal computer hardware and software.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. safely.
