Job Summary

The Environmental Health Technician is responsible for clerical, programmatic, customer support and as program coordination for the assigned unit/program area. Provides information about program services, schedules appointments, maintains an inventory of supplies and materials, processes various documents and enters and maintains data in a variety of (including secure) electronic systems. Coordinates the distribution of supplies and informational materials, answers routine program-specific and environmental health questions, and directs clients to subject matter experts in the assigned program area.

Duties may include providing clerical, administrative, and customer service support to assigned environmental health programs; serving as a point of contact for the public, visitors, and internal staff by answering routine program-related and environmental health questions using approved information and referring non-routine inquiries to appropriate staff; answering and routing phone calls, emails, and visitors; scheduling appointments and coordinating routine program activities;

processing, entering, and maintaining accurate records, forms, and data in electronic and secure systems; preparing documentation for routine reports, tracking needs, and open records requests; maintaining organized files and inventories of supplies and materials; supporting outreach and awareness activities by preparing materials and assisting with logistics; coordinating with County staff and external partners as needed; participating in meetings, trainings, and emergency preparedness activities;
