Description
In this customer-focused role, you'll be one of the first people visitors interact with when they arrive at the Durango Community Recreation Center. As a Receptionist/Cashier, you'll assist guests with facility admissions, program registrations, room rentals, and general questions while helping to keep daily operations running smoothly. This position combines customer service, cash handling, and administrative support. Whether you're helping someone enroll in a fitness class, assisting with directions, or managing facility access, your work will help create a positive experience for community members and guests who use the Rec Center every day.

Essential Job Duties
What You'll Do in This Role:
- Welcome visitors in person and by phone, answer questions, and provide information about Recreation Center programs, services, and facilities.
- Process class registrations, facility admissions, room rentals, locker reservations, and other transactions using recreation management software.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately while maintaining appropriate accounting procedures.
- Monitor facility access, assist with identification and check-in processes, and help enforce facility policies and procedures.
- Manage equipment check-outs, merchandise sales, and basic inventory tracking while supporting daily front desk operations.
You Have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of customer service and clerical experience, including cash handling.
- Ability to obtain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Enjoy helping people and providing friendly, professional customer service in a busy environment.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide variety of customers, coworkers, and community members.
- Stay organized, manage multiple tasks at once, and maintain accuracy when handling payments and registrations.
- Are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new computer systems and office technology.
